CPJ of New York presents the 2022 report
EN [ENA] Freedom of the press, CPJ of New York presents the 2022 report: 36 journalists killed, 64 missing, 294 arrested. In 30 years, 2181 journalists have been killed worldwide, while the most dangerous countries for the activity carried out remain Iraq, Russia, China, Mexico and Latin America.
A creepy report compiled by the 'Committee for the protection of journalists' around the world (CPJ). 2021 it was marked by bitter warfare and civil riots. From Afghanistan to Ukraine, through the cruel repressions in Asia and the Middle East, CPJ has worked to support journalists both in safety and in medical, legal and financial assistance. Indeed, the Committee for the Protection of Journalists promotes freedom of the press throughout the world and defends the right of journalists to report the news safely and without fear of reprisals.
CPJ protects the free flow of news and commentary by acting wherever journalists are threatened. Founded in 1981, it is an independent, non-profit organization that defends journalists around the world regardless of their political ideology. Today, CPJ networks are made up of journalists, researchers and legal experts, working together to support journalists and press freedom around the world.
